Dara

Dara founded Be Healthy Personal Trainer because she saw that physical therapy and fitness lacked a relationship to benefit seniors, post-rehab, people with disabilities and individuals with chronic health conditions. So Dara created a fitness program to cohesively bring these two worlds together. Dara and her personal trainers possess an impressive understanding of the musculoskeletal system and emphasis on injury prevention, balance, core and pelvic floor health. And it’s fun!

Dara spent four years gaining an intricate knowledge of the human body while working closely beside physical therapists at the Saint Peter’s Sports Medicine Clinic in Somerset, as a trainer and assisting patients with exercise programs. As a top fitness specialist, Dara does her best to understand your challenges, help you conquer them and gain confidence in your abilities.

Each session with Dara is unique to avoid boredom through repetitive exercises and so your muscles get the maximum benefit. Dara is beloved by her clients because of her expertise, fitness creativity and her ability to connect on a personal level with clients of all ages and demographics.

Kaiya

Kaiya graduated from Rutgers with her B.S. in Exercise Science and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She interned with AMP Physical Therapy where she gained orthopaedic knowledge across a diverse demographic of patients (adolescents to geriatrics). At Be Healthy, Kaiya encourages her clients to surpass their goals and challenge themselves safely. Her specialities include: athletes, weight loss, conditioning, functional training, pre/post natal and people with disabilities.

Kaiya’s outgoing and bubbly personality compliments her exhilarating extracurricular activities. When Kaiya is not working with patients you can find her training for triathlons, marathons or any other type of endurance race!

Cassie

Cassie joined during the pandemic and never looked back! Cassie is a junior at Rutgers University, majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Psychology.

As a Rutgers cheerleader, Cassie has competed at the UCA College Nationals and performed in various university football and basketball games. Prior to cheerleading, she competed as a level 10 elite gymnast.

With extensive experience in gymnastics and cheerleading, Cassie has a strong foundation of strength and conditioning techniques, flexibility and circuit training. She has also gained valuable experience as a cheerleading coach for multiple teams. Cassie is also an active intern at AMP Physical Therapy where she engages with patients and learns about advancing their fitness programs post rehab.

Cassie is excited to carry her enthusiasm and expertise over to BHPT’s NEW small group fitness classes and working 1:1 with our clients as a NASM certified personal trainer.

Alayna

Alayna is a student at the County College of Morris majoring in Exercise Science and she has recently obtained her personal training certificate. At the County College of Morris, Alayna has gained excellent knowledge after completing courses such as kinesiology, human anatomy, foundations of personal training, personal fitness, weight training, and program design and implementation.

Alayna harbors a strong passion for sports. Throwing her heart and soul into softball, field hockey, and boys and girls lacrosse since the age of 7, Alayna learned great leadership skills. Her love and passion earned her captain of her lacrosse team at Bernards high school, as well as 1st and 2nd team all-state. In addition, she led her traveling lacrosse team, T3 North, to many victories.

In January 2019, Alayna’s mom had double knee replacement surgery, and this is when Alayna’s career goals became evident. After watching the success her mom had at physical therapy, Alayna knew she wanted to pursue a career in the health care world. Having torn her meniscus and fracturing several bones in her wrist herself, Alayna understands the road to recovery and strives to keep pushing forward. She is a go-getter and is excited to be a part of helping people reach their goals and cheerleading them to recovery.

Alayna plans to continue school to obtain her bachelor’s or master’s degree in Exercise Science. On Alayna’s free time she enjoys watching baseball, hockey, and football and spending time with her daughter Remi.

Nicholas

Nick brings a broad range of experience from working with different populations, including children with multiple disabilities, professional and collegiate athletes, elderly, post-surgery individuals, military members, pregnant women and just anyone looking to be healthier! These experiences come from different settings, including outpatient physical therapy clinics, Rock Brook School for Communication Impaired and Multiply Disabled children, Morristown Medical Center Inpatient Physical Therapy, 24 Hour Fitness, Retro Fitness, and from serving in the United Stated Marine Corps. Nick’s passion comes from improving his client’s quality of life in any way he can! WOW!

During his five years in the Marine Corps, Nick achieved several fitness certifications, including SemperFit Basic + Advanced, High Intensity Tactical Training certification, Intermediate level Marine Corps Swim Qualification, and a Black Belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts program. Nick was very involved in his Unit’s training regiment, from leading daily training, to working with individuals 1 on 1 to help his Marines maintain the strict fitness standards.

After the military, Nick realized his passion for fitness and for helping people. Nick went to Rutgers University and earned a B.S. in Exercise Science. Nick also earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is currently going to school at Columbia University in pursuit of his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Jennifer

Jennifer Weidemann comes to Be Healthy with over 20 years experience working with special populations. Her passion includes working with older adults, individuals with chronic medical conditions and post physical therapy patients.

Jenn earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers University in 1998. She interned and was employed before graduating with Somerset Medical Center (now Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health Somerset). Over her years there, she created the Medical Wellness Exercise Program, working with individuals with chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and osteoporosis. In this program, she assessed clients, developed personalized exercise programs, supervised clients during their workouts, adjusted programs as needed and instructed group exercise programs. Jenn also has extensive experience working with clients in physical therapy for knee, hip, back, shoulder and ankle issues.

In 2020, Jenn certified as a Cancer Exercise Specialist (CES) with Cancer Exercise Training Institute (CETI). She is certified to work with individuals diagnosed with cancer anywhere along their continuum of care, from diagnosis, to during treatment, to recovering from surgery and beyond. Jenn previously became a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) with American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She is also certified in CPR and First Aid through the American Heart Association and most recently became certified as a Lifeguard.

In her free time, Jenn enjoys spending time with her family and her pet greyhound and going to the beach to vacation.

Bryann

Driven by her love of sport and participation in athletics, Bryann chose to pursue a career path in the field of health and fitness. Her passion for athletics has been a focal point in her life as she participated in a variety of club sports at a young age. More recently, she has practiced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, she has completed half marathons, and competed in a powerlifting competition. Bry earned her Bachelors of Exercise Science from Rutgers University in 2014, where she also worked part-time as a personal trainer. With an Applied Kinesiology focus she had classes ranging from Neuromechanical Kinesiology to Exercise & Aging with the senior population.

Her internship at a sports academy, highlighted by an NFL Combine Training program, allowed her to gain skills in strength & conditioning programming, as well as injury prevention. Bry earned her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification through NSCA. Bry also worked as a physical therapist aide at Saint Peters Sports Medicine Institute for over 6 years, where she assisted in rehabilitating athletes in returning to their sport as well as ailments in general population.

Most recently Bry completed her Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification in Exercise Nutrition. She has been successfully coaching clients to meet their weight loss and lifestyle goals through healthy eating habits and exercise. Bry established Wholehearted Nutrition and Wellness with BHPT. Bry is currently only working with nutrition clients.
